Ham radio log software for mac free portable#
It is meant for use when operating portable from the field or mobile (drive safe!). It works fine.HamLog is an amateur radio logging and tools application. Try it out before you spend $100 or whatever $$ for other software. I can go on for a while about this program but it's just too nice to see it run on your machine. It places the announcements in color for you to tell if you need it for band country, mode, or new one. It's announces DX, worked, needed, or new band country. Rum log is easy to use, but best is the DXcluster interface is like DX4WIN. All the other logging programs were off by 20 or 22 countries and it would require a tedious hand look up and country adjustment to make it work. The database imported my 10,000 records slowly so have patience but once they were in it was the FIRST program to match my DXCC worked 329 at the 327 level- I know the two countries which mismatch every time. I picked the 706 radio for my 756pro and changed the Pro-III's address to match the 706. Its interface with the radio is simply to log band, mode & freq. I have tried 4-5 attempts in the Mac OS-X world of coming close to DX4WIN solutions and most of the Mac programs while very nice and have excellent support (Maclogger by DogPark has some great features) none of them do a nice a job on DXCC and report summary generation as RUM log. (Must be installed on your computer) Except the DXCC statistics, RUMlog tracks the most interesting areas of the world for the most important awards: IOTA islands, CQ zones, ITU zones, Grid Squares, US States and German DOKs. RUMlog can interface with Google Maps (Web-Browser based) and Google Earth. RUMlog has import and export functions to allow exchange of log data in different formats to other logging tools. Kenwood, Elecraft, Yaesu and Icom transceivers are supported. RUMlog can interface with two transceivers, setting the main parameter on your TRX from the logbook or vice versa. Multiple interactive band maps virtualize activities on the air. RUMlog will separate DX-spots and alert you via e-mail or Growl when there is a ,new one' DXCC or IOTA spotted. A simple terminal is integrated for a Packet Radio connection. RUMlog can establish a dx-cluster connection via the Internet or via packet radio. Quick log searches or more detailed log queries are possible. RUMlog keeps you up to date about worked, confirmed or missing DXCCs and provides you with country lists and detailed statistics. Provisions are made to query the qrz.com online library.

RUMlog can use the ON6DP QSL manager database to inform you about managers or addresses and it can build and use an own manager and IOTA database, extracting the information from dx-cluster spots.
